The Making of our Pear Cut Diamond Charm Pendant

The Pear Cut Diamond Charm started with the diamond. We sourced a pear-cut stone that we loved and began playing with ways to make such a classic shape feel a little less expected.Turning the diamond upside down changed everything.

From there, we designed the angular setting around the exact proportions of the stone, contrasting the soft curve of the pear cut with sharper lines in the gold. It gives the diamond a completely different look while still letting the stone do all the talking.

The piece was then made completely from scratch in our goldsmiths’ workshop. Starting with 9ct yellow gold, our goldsmiths formed the setting by hand, working and refining the shape until it sat perfectly around the diamond.

The stone was then carefully set before the entire piece was finished and polished by hand. It’s one of the things we love about making jewellery this way — we can start with a stone and build the entire piece around it, rather than working with a standard setting.
