From bespoke commissions and jewellery repurposing to repairs, valuations and restoration, our experienced team is dedicated to helping clients care for and enjoy their pieces for years to come.

    Jewellery services

    Bespoke Jewellery

    Whether creating an engagement ring, wedding ring or a piece to mark a significant occasion, our bespoke service allows you to create something entirely personal.

    Each bespoke piece is designed and handcrafted in collaboration with our goldsmiths, with guidance throughout every stage of the process, from initial sketches and gemstone selection through to the finished piece.

    Jewellery Remodelling

    Jewellery often carries memories and meaning, even when it is no longer worn.

    Our jewellery repurposing service allows existing jewellery, heirloom pieces and inherited gemstones to be transformed into something new while preserving the materials and sentiment of the original piece.

    Whether working from an existing idea or developing a design together, our team will guide you through the process from concept to completion. Existing gold and gemstones can often be incorporated into a new design, creating a piece that is both personal and unique.

    Jewellery Cleaning & Polishing

    Our professional cleaning and polishing service is available for gold and platinum jewellery.

    Using specialist equipment and techniques, our team can help restore the appearance and brilliance of your jewellery, helping your pieces look their best.

    Jewellery left for cleaning and polishing is typically available for collection within 24–36 hours.

    Jewellery Repair

    Our repair service includes broken chains and clasps, restoration of worn settings, replacement of ring shanks and a wide range of general jewellery repairs.

    Each piece is assessed individually by our goldsmiths to determine the most appropriate approach, ensuring any work undertaken is sympathetic to the original design, craftsmanship and materials.

    Repairs are typically completed within approximately three weeks, depending on the complexity of the work required.

    Ring Sizing

    Ring resizing is available where appropriate and is assessed on a case-by-case basis by our Goldsmith.

    When resizing a ring, additional precious metal is carefully added where required. We do not stretch rings, as this can compromise the integrity of the setting and may lead to issues over time.

    Not all rings are suitable for resizing and each piece must be assessed individually before any work is undertaken.

    As part of our commitment to quality and aftercare, we are generally unable to provide a resizing service for newly purchased rings that were not originally supplied by Ryan Thomas. We believe it is important that rings are supplied in the correct size and that any future sizing requirements are supported by the jeweller who sold the piece.

    If you are purchasing a ring elsewhere, we strongly recommend seeking expert advice before completing your purchase. Not all rings can be safely resized, and this should be confirmed before the ring is ordered or supplied.

    A reputable jeweller should be able to advise whether the ring can be made in the required size, or whether future resizing would be suitable based on the design, setting and construction of the piece.

    Rhodium Plating

    White gold jewellery is rhodium plated to enhance its colour, brightness and finish.

    Over time, normal wear will gradually affect the rhodium plating, particularly on rings worn regularly. We typically recommend rhodium plating white gold rings approximately every two years, depending on wear.

    This service is carried out by our experienced goldsmiths and is typically completed within two to three weeks.

    Ring Setting Inspections

    Over time, claws and settings can wear through normal use, particularly on rings that are worn regularly.

    We are pleased to offer complimentary inspections of gemstone settings and mountings to help ensure stones remain secure. Any rings requiring attention are assessed by our goldsmitha, with a quotation provided before any work is undertaken.

    Regular inspections can help identify wear before it becomes a problem and provide peace of mind that your jewellery remains in excellent condition.

    Cultured Pearl Restringing

    Pearls are traditionally strung with knots between each pearl to minimise wear and help protect the strand should the thread break.

    As the thread naturally stretches and weakens over time, restringing may eventually be required. If the knots appear stretched or frayed, it may be time to have the strand restrung.

    Pearls left for restringing are typically available for collection within two to three weeks.

    A quotation will be provided before work commences.

    Valuations

    We provide valuation services for jewellery purchased from Ryan Thomas.

    Valuations can be prepared for insurance purposes and updated periodically to reflect current replacement values.

    Engraving

    We are pleased to offer complimentary engraving on suitable pieces purchased from Ryan Thomas.

    Whether marking a special date, initials or a personal message, engraving adds a meaningful and personal finishing touch to a piece intended to be treasured.

    Certain styles of engraving, including family crests on signet rings, require the expertise of a specialised hand engraver and are subject to an additional charge.

    Our team will be happy to advise on the engraving options available for your piece.

    Watch services

    Battery Replacement

    We carry an extensive selection of watch batteries and components, allowing most battery replacements to be completed by our in-house team.

    Watches left for battery replacement are typically available for collection on the following working day.

    A battery replacement and reseal service is also available for many luxury watch brands, including Cartier, Rolex and TAG Heuer.

    Strap Replacement

    We stock a wide selection of watch straps in a variety of styles and sizes. Straps are fitted in store by our team and fitting is provided complimentary with every strap purchase.

    Glass Replacement

    We offer a glass replacement service for a wide range of watches, including luxury watch brands.

    Depending on the watch and the availability of parts, glass replacements are typically completed within two to three weeks.

    Movement Replacement & Overhaul

    Some watches require more extensive attention, including movement replacement or a complete overhaul.

    Following an assessment of the watch, our team will provide a recommended course of action, together with an estimated timeframe and quotation before any work is undertaken.
