Ring sizing is not an exact science as sizing varies depending on the width of a ring. When gifting a ring, to determine an approximate ring size, you can compare a ring they own to your own finger or take this borrowed ring to a jeweller. Once you choose a ring, we provide ring sizing so that the ring will fit perfectly.

Remember that the material and stones on a ring are delicate and need to be treated as such. Therefore, only wash your ring with a mild soap so no damage will occur. At Ryan Thomas we offer a complimentary cleaning service on all rings purchased with us.

You have many choices. Our range includes yellow gold, white gold, rose gold, platinum, tantalum, carbon fibre and sterling silver rings. You can even remodel jewellery into your own diamond or gemstone engagement ring, making the proposal all the more special. Our rings and materials are carefully crafted to last a lifetime.

If your ring is the wrong size drop into our Gladstone St store where a member of the Ryan Thomas team will measure your finger and can advise on sizing the ring up or down. Our expert goldsmiths can size most rings however some rings can be more difficult to size because of complex details or unusual settings, in this case we can order the ring in your size.

Most of the Ryan Thomas ring collection is customisable e.g. we can change the material, precious stone, and even engrave a special detail on your ring. All you need to do is contact Ryan Thomas before finalising your order to add your engraving. A special moment deserves the most incredible gift, and tailoring your ring can make it even more meaninful.

Although both types of rings are unique and show levels of commitment, they're not quite the same. An engagement ring is involved in a proposal, where you're telling the other person that you want to marry them. A promise ring, however, is declaring your love for somebody and committing a future to them without the immediate prospect of marriage. Both ring types represent love and unity, and Ryan Thomas has a collection of either for you to explore.

Plain gold or silver rings, rings with coloured gemstones such as sapphire or ruby or tradition styles like the Claddagh ring or the signet ring all make for excellent everyday wear. They won’t be confused with an engagement ring and can be worn on your preferred finger e.g. pinkie, middle or index fingers.

The main things to remember when purchasing a ring for a loved one are the size, style, and material. First, it needs to fit them however if it doesn’t our expert goldsmiths can resize the ring accordingly. Next, they need to like it, consider their style, notice the jewellery they wear. Is it glamorous or more classic? Do they like chunky or petite pieces? Finally what colour jewellery do they wear? Do they wear exclusively yellow or white gold? Perhaps they prefer the warm tones of rose gold.
