Bespoke Jewellery FAQs

How much does a bespoke piece cost?

The cost of a bespoke piece varies as it depends on a multitude of factors such as: the type and quantity of metal (gold or platinum), the size and quantity of gemstones, the complexity of the design.

Every bespoke piece begins with an initial consultation where we will talk you through the design process and outline your inspirations, budget and design direction. This consultation is free of charge.

How long does it take to create a bespoke piece?

Generally, it takes 6-12 weeks to make a bespoke piece.

Once the design and cost is approved and a deposit paid, your piece is placed on our list and completed between 6-12 weeks. Timelines can vary depending on the design; for example if we are sourcing a rare gemstone or an unusual gemstone cut.

How are bespoke pieces made?

To make your bespoke piece, we work together to transform the initial ideas into a design direction. Once every detail is perfected and you have approved the design and cost, your bespoke piece is 100% handcrafted by our Goldsmiths in Ireland.

Do I pay for my bespoke design upfront?

We do not require payment for the total cost of your bespoke piece upfront. Once you approve the design and cost, a 10% deposit is required. The remaining balance can be paid as and when you wish, until collection of the bespoke piece.

How to prepare for an initial bespoke appointment?

The initial appointment is where we will talk through the design process and outline your inspirations, budget and design ideas. Therefore, it is very helpful if you can email us at info@ryanthomasjewellers.com with the following information before the initial appointment:

1. Inspiration references (for example photos of designs you like).

2. A cost budget, if you have one.

3. If you would like to remodel any existing jewellery into the bespoke piece, please include a photo of this existing jewellery. Don't forget to bring this jewellery along to the initial appointment!
